E.G. Phillips - From The Corner of My Eye

Blending creativity with beautiful storytelling, E.G. Phillips' video for his track From The Corner of My Eye is the product of love, care, and attention. The video is a stop motion animation which has been used by handcrafted puppets. The setting is that of a forest on winter night, and the story follows a postman passing through the woods who thinks he has noticed a tiger from the corner of his eye. At the start of the video, we see a snippet from Willian Blake’s famous poem “The Tyger,” allowing us to assume that perhaps the inspiration for the story comes from there. The video along with the song that embodies warmth, is very soothing to the senses, as it completely pulls you under its comforting wing.

Nick Cain - One More For The Road

Exploring the idea of getting another shot at a romance that your heart wouldn’t let go of, Nick Cain’s ‘One More For The Road’ is a gorgeous country-pop track that is sure to warm your heart. The lyrics are simple and filled with imagery, and you can picture the song in your mind like a movie as the song plays. Guitars typical to a country track can be seen done very well in the song, giving the song an infectious rhythm. Cain’s vocals, so deep with longing and yearning, will have you coming back for more after the last second of the song plays out.

The Spinning Game - Death.

A haunting harmony laden vocal entry marks the beginning of The Spinning Game’s track ‘Death.’ that will immediately make you excited for what’s to come next. Gentle acoustic guitar strumming marks the song, allowing for the beautifully layered vocals to shine through. You’d expect the song to have some angst heavy sound given the title, but it surprises you by being exceptionally calmingly cathartic. There is a sense of acceptance that plays throughout that grounds the song. The song feels like laying on the ground and just looking at the heavens above. Forcing you to look inwards, this song will challenge your perceptions of what you’d expect of a song with a title this one has.
